SHARIFA K. JARRETT

Sharifa K. Jarrett is an experienced attorney and Senior Counsel at Sloto & Diamond. Her practice focuses on probate and trust administration and litigation.

Sharifa represents personal representatives, trustees, beneficiaries, heirs, creditors, and other interested persons in contested probate and trust proceedings. Her experience includes undue influence claims, breach of fiduciary duty matters, homestead disputes, contested inheritance rights, removal of personal representatives and trustees, and other complex estate and trust controversies. She also guides clients through formal, summary, and ancillary probate administration proceedings.

Before joining Sloto & Diamond, Sharifa established and led probate and trust practice groups in both law firm and in-house environments. At a multi-office law firm, she built its probate and trust practice group while representing clients in administration and litigation matters. She later served as Practice Group Leader and In-House Probate Counsel at a real estate-related company, where she established the company’s internal probate practice, advised executive leadership on beneficiary entitlement, intestate succession, homestead, competing claims, and litigation strategy, and developed the systems and team necessary to manage probate matters at scale.

Sharifa earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law, where she served as Senior Editor of the UDC Law Review, and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, cum laude, from Florida State University.
