Carolyn L. Kirkland

Carolyn Kirkland is an experienced attorney of-counsel at Sloto & Diamond. Her practice focuses on probate, trust, and guardianship administration and litigation. In addition, Carolyn assists individuals and families with estate and trust planning, including those in need of special needs trusts and settlement fund protection trusts.

Carolyn has experience representing fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and other interested persons in matters involving contested fiduciary appointments, undue influence claims, will and trust contests, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and elder exploitation. She also regularly counsels clients through all aspects of probate, trust, and guardianship administrations, often including the approval of wrongful death and minors’ personal injury settlements by state probate and guardianship courts.

Carolyn graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, where she served as an Articles and Comments Editor for the Race and Social Justice Law Review. An Ohio native, Carolyn received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University.
